Hwa Hun or “Blooming House”
In the vicinity of the National Park Bukhansan in Seoul (South Korea) is a large mansion with an original geometry named Hwa Hun translated in english, Blooming House. The desire of the customer was to be “closer to nature”. Architects from Iroje KHM Architects embraced literally the idea and designed a building in the shape of a flower and all outdoor space of the house covered with green vegetation. Angular facades have not only aesthetic but also practical function: it doesn’t allow neighbours houses and passersby to look inside the building. Following the request of the customer to be “closer to nature”, the architects made a mansion in the middle of several open areas with green vegetation. Between stairwells you can also see real lawn. A beauty!
