Shelter by GG (Gabriela Gomez)

Portuguese architect, Gabriela Gomez has developed and implemented a project “Shelter by GG” – an experimental mobile housing, which, however, is a striking art-object that attracts the attention of local residents and visitors Guimaraes (Portugal). The innovative concept interprets the choice of Diogenes – the ancient Greek philosopher who has chosen his shelter, an ordinary wine barrel. Shelter combines modern sculpture, which is a kind of cocoon of the most necessary for life functions. Mobile unit offers a double room with built-in bathroom, made from environmentally friendly materials. In addition, on the surface of the object are fixed solar panels for energy production. This temporary installation, requires no special conditions, like the barrel of Diogenes, can be easily transported to any destination.
